Transcription
Linguistically, transcription is the representation of language in written form. The source is usually either speech utterances or existing text in a different writing system.
Transcription is not translation, but rather a written rendering (a transcript) of typically an audio or video recording such as a conversation, presentation, interview, performance, etc. Transcription is helpful for a variety of purposes, from academic research (analyzing conversations, dialects, sociolinguistics) to the medical field (such as a physician’s notes), court proceedings (such as a court reporter’s notes), and record keeping.
I am an experienced transcriptionist in both Spanish and English and offer transcription of audio and video files in both languages, as well as their translation, if necessary.
Please reach out if you have a project that you need transcribed and/or translated, and I will be happy to accommodate you!
